I really enjoyed this film. It was a poignant movie that didn’t delve too deeply into the heavy stuff, even though the heavy stuff was there as an undertone throughout the story. I still walked away considering it a feel good movie.
There were a few discrepancies but they didn’t bother me too much. I enjoyed the music at face value and wasn’t Googling song release dates to see if they “matched up” like so many other reviewers apparently were. The one exception was the casting of JR. Both actors who portrayed him were excellent, but they didn’t even remotely resemble each other, in looks, mannerisms or any other discernible factor. It was tough to get past that one, but I still got to the end and thought, “I liked it”.
