There genuinely is no better representation of what diversity and compassion within that diversity can look like onscreen today. The kindness, fun, and playfulness balance out well with the core themes;
What is it to struggle with mental health?
Is it possible to be happy later in life?
How far will you go for loyalty and love?
It grapples well with all of this, and the acting from each character is gorgeously thought through. A major shout-out to Con O'Neill, who I genuinely believe to be one of the true greats of acting. Also to Vico Ortiz, whose portrayal of Jim gives credence to the hope that one day, people can be people, no explanation needed.
