It is very poignant as Europe tips into wat again now, and America is there to help to read a book that as always looks at a fierce time in our history through the lense of such likeable characters. The reality of war and loss touches the heart more deeply with a book like this than knowing all the ins and outs of campaigns and weapons. Danielle is a master craftsman and like Picasocan create an indelible picture with a few brush strokes ..or in her case sentences...I stand in Awe of her storytelling
