Glen Powell does a good job changing into whatever character he wants to be and the comparison of the college philosophy course with “real” life is clever but… what is this? Is it a murder mystery crime film? Only if you can buy into the story line of a college professor “helping” the police and being used as the last resort as an undercover hit man. Over and over again. I don’t know when he fits in his real job as a teacher.
Then he meets a beautiful woman who wants him to kill her abusive husband but he talks her out of it and they fall in love but she later kills her husband, who knows why? Then Hit man and girlfriend get threatened by an ex policeman, she drugs him, he suffocates him to finish the job and they live happily ever after. Seriously I’m lost about why this was so popular. Would have been better as a series with character development. As a movie, it fails.
