This book is definitely not for the faint of heart. It has almost every trigger warning in it. This book was honestly very messed up and triggering at some parts, but if you enjoy very twisted suspenseful books then you would probably really like this book.
Story Plot, 2/5 stars
For this specific book I would say the plot was kind of all over the place. Every character had different problems, which I know is a part of reading books, but it was almost like every character was a main character. I think that the book was well written with many good literary devices that really submerge you into the world of this story, but there was so much information it felt like it was an informative book more than a “Thriller.”
Character Development 4/5 stars
The character development was my favorite part of the book. While it was hard for me to read the details of the “other not appropriate things” happening in this book, I felt sympathy for both Claire and Lydia.
First I would like to talk about Lydia. I think Lydia is the perfect example of a real person. She really models what the real world can do to a person. She not only recovered from “drugs,” but she was able to find love again and raise a child. She forgave her sister after she split their family apart. In top of this she still expressed the ugly feel by s that people experience. Lydia is a well written character and I really felt sympathy for her.
Now let’s talk about the second main character Claire. I really like Claire because she is the type of person you want to read about. The character who finds true love and married a rich person. She is also the person with the most trauma/the person who gets messed up the most. She lost the love of her life and found out that he was a “monster” in some parts of his life. Overall I really enjoyed reading about Claire because she was very interesting.
Paul, Paul, Paul. Paul is easily my least favorite character. I think the most important part about the book is making it believable. Now was Paul believable? No, not really. He just wasn’t doing it for me. His character just flipped a switch. You can’t just going from being the most lovable person your whole life to murdering multiple people. It wasn’t really believable. I know that there are good liars in this world. But him? I’m sorry no. Now I’m not completely hating this author, I think she is really good, but the character just didn’t do it.
Personal Thoughts 3/5 stars
So I’m just going to keep it short and sweet. Did I hate the book? No, I tho u by it had its good parts and bad parts. I think that the character were phenomenal l, but the plot could be better.
Overall 3/5 starts
I just want to remind everyone I’m not a professional reviewer or reader so this is all just my opinion.😊
