The South Sudanese activist, conveniently accused of terrorism, is Muslim. However, South Sudan is a Christian country with an insignificant tribal Muslim minority. As a devout Muslim, saying his prayers when Adam Franco found him, his monologue about fighting for his country's freedom makes no sense. The 40 year struggle that he apparently refers to, was to free Christian-African South Sudan from Muslim-Arab Sudan, not the opposite. The filmmakers possibly confused South Sudan with Darfur, which is part of Sudan, where Muslim Africans are being persecuted by Muslim Arabs. I have never heard of France or the French military, being involved in either place (as they are in Mali for example). Sudan and South Sudan are both East African Anglophone countries while France is usually involved in Francophone countries in West and Saharan Africa.
