A Discovery of Witches made me feel like I was the one in the abusive relationship and I was miserable the entire time. This book had reviews saying "it's like Harry Potter for adults" which is demonstrably false. There is such little fantasy and magic in a book where the main character is a witch. Every single character is humorless and uptight to the point where there wasn't a single relatable or likable character. The main characters also seem to think they're better than everyone else including each other and they're full of ugly stereotypes. I do not reccomend this book to anyone because it just seems like someone's twilight fanfic with worse characters.
