The translation from theater to cinema was beautiful, epic, and honoring of its legacy.
Wicked has a heartbeat all its own, and Chu did a phenomenal job of bringing that to the big screen. The actors melted seamlessly into their characters (while bringing a dimension of edginess, flair, and realness I had never experienced before), the costumes and sets were rich with color, textures, and magic, and the choreography draws you into a world that makes you believe anything could be possible again.
The music was familiar where it needed be while still offering a fresh perspective.
🩷💚 My advice:
Let yourself be swept away by the force of nature that is Wicked. Let yourself be healed by the story. And let yourself stay curious about who you would like to be in the world and what path you would like to pave.
Can’t wait for Part 2!
