SPOILERS IN THIS REVIEW: Great movie, but the overall duration for the movie was very short and it felt like it was missing something. Maybe if Jemma had a partner, I mean it is not necessary for every female to have a man but it would be nice to see more characters. Also I feel like the relationship between Cady and Gemma could have been more explored throughout the movie, as Gemma mentioned in the beginning of the movie that Cady is NOT her child despite taking legal custody of her sister’s daughter. I did some a bit of their relationship changing at the end of the movie, but it was very vague. Or the movie could have shown as to why Gemma and her sister weren’t close (as she mentioned that in the movie). A brief flashback of Gemma and her sister’s childhood could have made things clearer. I wanted to know more, like why Gemma and her sister weren’t close, even though Gemma promised to her sister to be Cady’s legal guardian. Also, the movie could have been suspecting Gemma of the neighbour’s murder because it was really obvious that M3gan murdered the neighbour. Maybe if the scene of the neighbour getting killed wasn’t in the movie, and instead showed a weapon in Gemma’s room and getting her arrested would have made the audience guessing who the actual criminal was. If there is a second movie, I hope to see Cady grown up. Going to high school in her senior year or moving to campus for college would be cool. As well as, showing a potential partner for Gemma would be nice.
