The fighting scenes were perhaps a tad bit better than the Sean & Roger fighting scenes, but not up to today's standards. Had sort of the original Batman series fighting scenes mixed with old Chinese martial art movie fighting scenes. The very ending had sort of a prelude feeling to the Craig era Bond movies. The tire skid marks sounds, but made on a sandy beach in beginning of the movie sort of set the tone to a semi cheesy sound effects throughout movie. For really harsh critics, that sound effects mismatch would of instantly ruined the movie. A lot of the movie, along with a lot of the action, was set on a snowy mountain, sort of making the movie a little less diverse as far a global scene variety that other Bond movies possess. Taking into consideration 1969 special effects, a remake with Craig may give this movie justice. Bare minimum, it's worth watching just to watch, if you are a Bond movie enthusias, however; for the casual fan, it may not be appealing. This Bond movie portrays Bond as being slightly more of a tough guy, rather than a smooth sailer (the Roger like quality). But if I was stuck on an island, & I can only take 5 Bond movies with me to watch, Octopussy, Never Say Never Again, Skyfall, & maybe Golden Eye (even though I wasn't grabbed by the Pierce movies), & perhaps this one (just so I can do a compare & contrast between the Bond actors). The Timothy movies I can do without, the movies themselves are decent, but Timothy is just too bland for the Bond character. Having said all that, I do like the Craig's version of Casino Royal & For Your Eyes Only, better than this movie, & Octopussy, Skyfall, & Never Say Never Again would be my top 3 of all Bond movies. If they could only fix & re-edit Never Say Never Again, & incorporate the actual Bond music, it would make NSNA perfect. But the sound effects on OHMSS, like wow, the elaborate "pow" sounds with every punch thrown, I want to say there was a scene on bob sled were Bond shoots gun, & there was no sound. But if someone got hit by a twig, there was an elaborate sound effect. But, I guess it's worth watching.
