Productions need to stop taking advantage that people will watch literally anything these days or see a movie regardless of its quality because the quality of movies now hide behind it’s famous recognizable actors and marketing. the quantity of movies with recognizable traits overpowers the demand for original content that people will watch again. Movies are better when the enjoyment was in the story, plot progression and character’s emotions. We get so many movies released a year now but they repeatedly fail to give enough attention and thought to it. High quality pieces of garage shouldn’t be so easily overlooked, the price tags on these types of movies are way too high.
30 minutes into it I thought it was some clever comedy, but once the alien shows up everything from there was obviously suppose to be taken seriously.
weird core aesthetic in a bare minimal action movie? why not put brad pitt, a generic action wife and child in the alien stingray movie, spend a quarter of the time on dialogue and making the characters back ground stories interesting (it was just simply that kind of overly branded movie and the monkey/horse plot did not save it, it made it worse), then actually have the time for the characters to actually fight or have battle scenes with the alien, you could even have more time to put a tank or spaceship. and then use the monkey/horse plot in a more thoughtful movie?
Nope tried to be symbolic and deep, but all of its core ideas were just digested then thrown up all over the place
WHERE IS YOUR IPHONE? Half the movie was about getting these cameras to work! They encountered the alien only for the purpose of filming it originally and they don’t want to use their iPhones? (they didnt even go on their phones the entire movie, the writers thought we would forget they exist) Like if the camera aesthetic part was so important why not make the movie take place during the 80s Lmao
