I fully appreciate this movie and its message. I believe its primary message is a challenge to Christians and the church today. The Christian church, especially the evangelical church in America, has lost its way. This film is challenging the church to repent from its worship of certain ideologies and its dedication to an ungodly man with no Christian values. There is nothing in the religious/political movement that is on the rise in America today that resembles the teachings of Jesus. Bonhoeffer was a prophet who recognized the failures of the Church in Germany and was willing to give all that he had, including his life, to bring attention to the sinfulness of the German church. Who will be the prophet to speak the truth today?
