This film proves to be a challenging watch, not because of its complexity, but due to its erratic narrative structure and excessive stylization. The storyline lacks cohesion, often jumping between subplots without a clear direction, making it difficult for the audience to stay engaged.
A major point of contention is the overuse of "mass hero" introductions. While one or two such moments can heighten impact, the film indulges in six or seven similar sequences, each accompanied by deafening background music. Nearly every character’s entrance is treated like a grand event, to the point where it feels repetitive and overwhelming. The exaggerated use of slow-motion walks and upward glances set to dramatic music quickly becomes tiresome and borders on parody.
Visually, it’s clear that a significant budget was allocated — from high-end equipment to international talent — but the story doesn’t hold up. What could have been a focused revenge drama revolving around a boy’s vendetta, possibly linked with the central character "Lucifer", ends up muddled in unnecessary political drama. The film’s fixation on party politics, leadership transitions, and shallow side characters dilutes any emotional core the plot might have had.
Additionally, the symbolic wordplay around the letter “L” comes off as juvenile rather than clever — an odd creative choice that fails to resonate.
Character development is virtually nonexistent. Even the main characters are given little emotional depth or compelling arcs. The first half feels particularly drawn out, burdened with political exposition and dialogue that adds little value to the narrative. The editing, too, is disorienting, which further complicates an already fragmented storyline.
In short, this film is a classic example of style over substance. It tries to do too much and ends up delivering very little. Unless drastic changes are made, a third installment would be inadvisable. Sometimes, it’s best to take the budget and walk away.
Rating: 3/10
Not recommended. Even a rewatch of Snow White would be more satisfying.
