This movie is kind of a mess. Every character is worse than in the book and the plot points are swapped around unnecessarily. A lot of important plot points and character moments aren't in the book, which makes a lot of characters fall flat. Some characters just disappear from the book before they can be given any substance, and the main characters are downgraded in what made them likable in the book. However, it's still a good movie. The Hunger Games itself are better than in the book, and actually gives the tributes character, and Part III may be a mess, but it makes certain character moments stronger. Overall, it made strong moments from the book and made it better, but took okay and bad moments from the book worse.
