It is an insult to all the great actors who are nominated to call this movie Oscar worthy. Lada Gaga who is not an actress is 💯 oscar worthy even if it had a sad ending. Roma, is an average movie and in that case any movie can win an oscar. The movie was slow, boring, complete lack of emotion absolutely nothing incredible. Just an example the maid who seems to be the protagonist in the film, was so blah and she is pregnant and goes into labor and loses the baby and doesn’t even kiss it when they tell her they are taking it away. You just can’t feel what real actors make you feel in films. Almost every other Mexican movie and soap opera blow this out of the water. That is what Mexicans re known for being passionate and none of that is in here. There are many other Mexican based movies with a much better narrative and acting. I guess it’s no longer about quality, it’s who you know in Hollywood and in today’s diet a lack of condiment movie. I think most people who watched don’t even speak Spanish and saw the subtitles and are just going with the flow.
