This book is akin to Second Class Citizen by Buchi Emecheta, in terms of patriarchy, advocacy for feminism, family and faux love after marriage. Whilst reading, it was a mixture of emotions- sometimes, I was livid, I paused so many times- Chinelo's death, Uju's first daughter brain surgery and so on. Towards the end, I was about to tag the author on X/Twitter to pay for my therapy. However, when I saw the letter Akin dropped for Uju, I smiled. A great piece!
