There was a reason I was into this movie and now I know why:
We all have or used to have a friend like Darcy. The one who demands everything of us, all our time, all our energy, so we could placate their ego. Eve though I don't like the plot of Rachel ending up with Dex, we fail to see the reason why he is the way he is. His father had the same personality as Darcy. Pushy, demanding and obnoxious. This was the real story line here. This movie focuses on the psychological situations behind friendships and love relationships. It focuses on people who have dealt with emotional abusive people who try to dictate to you who you should be, what your should wear, and how you should live your lives. When Rachel and Dex meet, these two gentle souls fall in love and learn to combat their problems together. So they end up together, which is good. Quick look to the last scene when Darcy finds Dex's coat in Rachel's apartment an begins to blame HER and give HER the responsibility for the reason why Dex left her to begin with. The bravest thing Rachel did at the very last scene was to look Darcy in the face and say she was sorry that she hurt her. That is something MANY people would never do. Its easy to bash others and judge when you don't understand the backstory of their life and how they are the way they are. Rachel selflessly still loves Darcy even when she knew she was lieing, cheating, etc. She cared about her. That's a one of a kind person, someone you should always keep close to your side.
