I was excited for this one…bought tickets for opening night…but unfortunately, it didn’t deliver. Weird combo of animation and cinematography…unenthusiastic story line…adult humor that was kind of awkward or didn’t quite land or just wasn’t funny…there were several reasons I didn’t love it and it’s difficult to put my finger on one. During the entire “warp portal through different worlds” scene there was silence in the theatre…im guessing everyone found it as odd as i did. Im also a hard core Rhi Rhi fan, but her voice for the Smurfette role wasn’t a good fit imo. Took three 8 year olds to see it and they said “mid” as well. Again, i went in wanting (and expecting to) like it…but i was glad when it was over 😕
