Very disappointed, the casual dismissal of a major character in the film.at the end was unneccesary, and will leave major plot holes for future films, which must now deviate further from the book series. Perhaps that is what the producers intended from the start, betraying a baked in loyal audience. Quite sad.

It was going well until the Apache helicopter turned up carrying the rescue squad. Two problems 1) the French don't have any Apache helicopters and, more importantly 2) the Apache is a 2 seater (pilot/gunner) with absolutely no troop carrying capacity let alone the cavernous interior depicted full of troops. This is a major blunder and is sloppy and disrespectful of the viewer. It's spoilt the whole programme for me, I was suspending disbelief for the other plot holes but this is too much. What next a Mini containing a Company of Soldiers?
