I made it all the way through this movie, which is more a tribute to my fortitude than the quality of the movie. One movie comes to mind when I try to compare this one to others. No, it's not Inception or Vanilla Sky. It's Playback Time. Never heard of Playback Time? That's because it was a fake movie inside of Me. Bean's Holiday starring and created by Carson Clay (played by Willam Dafoe). It was utterly absurd and his character thought it was brilliant.
The same happens in Reminiscence. Great actors can't bring to life the overly flowery narration and dialogue. I had high hopes for an interesting thriller, but it played more like a romance novel adapted for the Oxygen channel.
