No not at all convincing , the entire plot of the story has been turned upside down right from Mrs. De winter to everything literally! It's a pity that such a great novel has been made into a movie so different, so not itself , unoriginal and not even close to being genuine.
Aspects which demands significance like Mrs. De winter's insecurity and uncertainty ,The newly weds distinct age gap, The relationship being more like that of father and daughter than husband and wife , Mr. De winter's charm, mysticism and commitment towards manderly and Rebecca's infallible beauty has been completely subtled out and forgotten.
I loved the novel very much and I don't think the movie does justice to it in any way.
