Expectations: Well I’ve never seen an asylum film before but I expected nothing less than Tarantino or John Hughes, and well I wasn’t disappointed.
Plot: Wow this plot just couldn’t stop reminding me of The Bee Movie, or Fred 2 Camp I Wannapeepee. Not only was the main characters met with physical struggles, they were met with mentally draining struggles and the over arching question of how to deal with these struggles in a way that matches not just the realism of a real situation but the satisfaction gained regarding the task at hand.
Debbie and her environmentalist team seemed to have the right idea about the eco-system and the food chain, but seemed to do it in the worst way possible - releasing pythons into the Everglades.
To combat the actions made by Debbie, Tiffany injected steroids into chickens which were then fed to alligators and then the alligators and the pythons were supersized.
This really just grasped my attention because of how symbolic this seemingly simple motion actually was. It’s so full of symbolism for sure.
At this point in the movie (when the pythons are killing these gators and all that) I decided to hop on my playstation 4 and played some NBA2k20. I played maybe 3 games of rec league and accumulating a record of 2-1 whilst shooting 46% from the field and an underwhelming 30% from 3.
So there was also a fight scene or something, but I wasn’t paying attention because at this point my team just gave up a 5 point lead in the middle of the third quarter, so I had to focus up.
At some point Debbie and Tiffany teamed up while at the same time holding a grudge against each other, there was also a monkey promised at one point during the movie but I don’t believe there was one.
Ending: I really stopped paying attention to what was going on, but I think it was because my mind was so focused on the NBA2k20 rec center game. But all I can remember is how dramatic and thrilling the last fight scene was, and the helicopter scene, Diego was cool.
The Animation: I was watching this at 3:30-5:00 and omg I was so immersed I couldn’t look away from the screen, except when I wasn’t looking at the screen. I almost started thinking mega pythons and Gatoroids were real after I finished watching just by how seamless and clean the CGI was.
Acting: Wow, what can I say but Wow!!! I went into this movie knowing Debbie and Tiffany, but wow as soon as i got through maybe 5 minutes I didn’t even remember that’s who I was watching, all I could think was that it was Nikki or Tara or whatever there names were, Christie Rose was fantastic, Diego was cool, some lady named Angela or something like that was cool, some guy that was wearing clothes he was cool.
Notes for Parents that may be buying this movie for their son or daughter for Christmas this year: There were a few bad words like the ‘b’ word which was said multiple times, I had to plug my ears whenever I was expecting it to happen, but sometimes I couldn’t plug them in time oopsy.
I think I might watch the octopus vs shark one after this, I wish I knew which order these were in before I started watching, hopefully there’s no order you are supposed to go in.
