Pros: Great quality animation that vividly captures the climatic scenes of one of the best manga ever made. The final seconds especially was extremely well done. Cons: Voice actors changed for the worse, especially Sakuragi’s and Rukawa’s. Doesn’t sound like the original voices at all, instead replaced by very cliché Japanese voice actors. Also the movie skipped many important scenes in the manga, like the scene where Uozumi shows up when Akagi is down etc. Also Ryota’s backstory was really boring and unnecessary. Would have preferred to see Sakuragi’s. And why Ryota is in the States? In the manga he ends up becoming Akagi’s successor as captain for Shohoku.
