I'm from Mississippi so I could relate to some scenes; the house of his wife, you could see through it. I knew a family, the house was in a field, no outside lights, passing at night we knew if they were home because we could see the glow of the fireplace through the cracks.
There were juke joints and bouth likers.
Some nights the KKK would ride through going to blacks beating and killing some, but they never messed with us.
Some nights when I slept, I couldn't move, and thought I was screaming I thought I was going to die all of a sudden I would wake and run to my grandma crying and she would say baby it was a haint on you! She told me to not be afraid and pray, it worked, I stopped sleeping on my back. Being so familiar with the jara and place it made me shiver inside, I had to walk out at times. I'm a fright movie person, I have never shivered like this! I remembered Voodoo! It really messed me up! It was so real except for the Vampires☺️ y'all know I'm old😊
