Omg. This was a terrible movie. Totally miscast, except for Sam Hughuen as the prince. The teenage boy was actually pretty good, too. Liked him, though the character was annoying. The actor made him ok, though.
Such a stupid story—really? Prince falls for the American girl in a week or so. Then they’re married in the spring. Such a trite story line. But I guess that’s what sells.
I was very disappointed with Roger Moore. He hasn’t aged well (C’mon, James Bond! Though I’m very sorry he’s now passed away.) He should have been a much stronger character.
Sorry to pan this film, but it’s really not worth your time. Well, maybe it is if you’re looking for a simple fairy tale.
Gotta add another comment: The person who designed the female main character’s wardrobe should be sent to the hinterlands. Her dresses/shoes were the worst. Even her ‘ball gown’ was cringe worthy. This was supposed to be a princess-in-waiting? Even I (at age 73) wouldn’t be caught dead in something so ugly.
BTW, I loved the butler character. He made me smile throughout.
