I thought this was a fantastic show. Having read lots of reviews I knew what to expect - it is a play about the creative writing process of an album, not a musical. There will be music stop/starting and lots of discussion about the writing process. There was lots of character development and this shone when contrasting their growth from start to end. There was lots of nuance and you have to be watching closely to pick up on the details. It is not the type of show to “spoon feed” the audience with what the characters are thinking and there is lots of slight changes to body language and tone to pick up on - very cleverly done. The music was outstanding and gave me goosebumps - absolutely loved it. The cast were brilliant.
