Having lived and worked in East Africa, including Uganda, I found this a very relevant and accurate presentation of what I would say is less about race (though that is inevitable) and much more about religion and class. There are plenty of Black American evangelists who might do the same type of thing, just so happens that most of Renee's type are White. But the larger picture is the vacuum that exists in countries like Uganda that even allow something like the "hospital" she created to exist at all without oversight and regulation. Certainly her heart was in the right place but the arrogance and sense of entitlement-- again fueled more by religious zealotry and economic privilege-- are outrageous and unfortunately all too common, even to this day....
