Yes, some of the premises seems a little hokey - such as a racially blended family that is both Jewish and Baptist? But it is refreshing to see faith openly displayed in a TV series. But, being a writer, the first episode was to introduce the characters for the series. I will be tuning back in to see how they may normalize things a bit.
