It's entertaining but it feels stilted. You don't feel the strong connection between characters as you would in BoB. Some events - like Basilone lasted 3 days and nights but the show makes it one day which cheapens what Basilone did. Some other issues - why do the Marines arrive at Guadalcanal with long hair? I get it, if they have been in the field for a long time it would grow out but it should have been true to the dress code of Marines. Lastly, and most bothersome, the Marines do not call Pharmacist mates or Corpsman medics! When someone is injured, the Marines yell Corpsman up! or just Corpsman. As a former FMF Corpsman, this was like a splinter in my side every. time. I. heard. it.
