Having seen top gun when I was a child, this sequel was important for me. The trailer did not impress me that much and i blame it solely on the TV. this is a movie that needs to be watched in theater to experience its full glory. The character of Maverick has been continued in a seamless manner and u don't feel abrupt character changes. The dog fight shots could have been done a little slower though as sometimes they are so fast u r trying to catchup. Rooster is a gr8 introduction and hangman adds that "iceman" touch. I wish val kilmer had more screen time. One pro tip, better watch top gun again before going to this one so that u r not wondering who is "penny". Final verdict : Worth spending the money to watch it in a theater
