First time in my life I felt compelled to write a review about a movie on any social media platform. Watched the movie 'Savarkar' yesterday. I was left speechless.
Apart from the obvious one-sided historical narrative that we know of and this movie very well describes... The movie making itself was very good! The movie- although long, never felt slow, there was such good use of light, camera (wide and suffocating shots), dialogues were crisp and such symbolism! There was one scene were Savarkar just opens his arms and that 5 second clip made me "feel" what freedom is!
I watched the movie with only the mindset that I'll get to know more about Veer Savarkar but I came out of it more enriched! The movie did a brilliant job of portraying human will-power (i think the last time i felt this fully was after watching 'Unbroken', directed by Angelina Jolie)...
Very impressed with Randeep Hooda as an actor and director! National award awaits!
