Dang, I just wished there was a real threat in this film. Real consequences. I liked the visuals of the film a lot, I liked seeing the characters again. But no one paid the price. Not really. That's what the other Star Wars movies had that this one didn't. Each choice came at a real cost. So it meant something. You could lose an appendage or a family member along the way. This one had too many fake outs, easy obstacles, one after the other the whole film, they were all invincible, no one was hurt, and it was too easy. No one permanently lost a hand, or an arm, or went blind, no loved one was sacrificed for the greater good, no one had to struggle for more than a few seconds when in harms' way. No one had to make a hard choice. I liked that Kylo makes amends and gives up the ghost for Rey in the end, I liked naming her a Skywalker. I just wished they would've taken a more dramatic route to that moment, so that the sacrifice felt real. Palpatine should not have been used again, he was already defeated by a Skywalker. Rey is untouchable and kills him again, learns nothing about herself. Come on, guys. And to think this was the finale. I think they were on the right track, but definitely fell short of a home run.
