2.5 Stars! Gunn's Superman has some good, but there's just too much to hate. He's SUPERMAN, Let him be Super WtF!
The good news is, Cornsweat as 'Big Blue' is solid! He's belivable, and definitely has A handle on the Superman dichotomy (Kal 'El & Clark Kent). Plus he pulls off the meh suit.
One of the movies biggest problem is the stupid script itself. It hamstrings Superman, buy trying to do & say far too much.
No kick-off arc to any on-going movie series needs 3 separate groups of protagonist heroes -- all on seprate missions -- for the films final battle. Am I right? Hold your chair film goers; because Louis is leading A Daily Planet rescue squad—along w/ Perry, Jimmy and Cat & two other imbeciles; all on A special final act mission. How stupid is that!?
Almost as stupid as all the sub-plot SJW messaging. I.e. Some foreign political tyrant (antagonist), who was A 100% nod to the synthesis of George Soros & Benjamin Netanyahu. Of course via Israel vs Palastine. Smh (Hollywood just can't leave the real world out of their movies).
But what was even stupider yet, was A narrative plot twist in the beginning. Where just seconds after Supes saves all these people, their kids & even A squirrel. An obvious propagandous message plays on A Time square Jumbo tron. This news bulletin; Immediately switches the sentiment of the crowd of on-lookers (again, many who Supes had just saved). The idiotic Metropolis citizens waste no time responding w/ violence, scourn & hate. Some even throw trash & glass bottles at Superman! Total Super cringe meets Amateur hour.. A scene so forced & ill timed, I ALMOST GOT UP & LEFT THE THEATRE. I kid you not!
Perhaps it was A good thing I stayed though, because Superman was good. The Action later on was good. And Nathan Fillion (Castle actor) who plays A secondary Green Lantern; named Guy Gardner, he was really good too!
But like I said already, as A whole there's just to much I hated about this movie. A better script is something the studio heads should of seen before they started filming. Cause this movie's flaw couldn't be anymore obvious.
