Watching in succession (Dec 2022), this series is the most frustrating, entertaining, and provocative storylines I’ve been drawn to.
The symbolism, commitment to hard work, honor of word, integrity of family name, majestic scenes versus the callousness of ongoing injustice behind political bureaucracy, corporate greed, and filth in what’s supposed to be “mankind”.
The ironic correlation between:
•having a homeland and homeless drifters,
•protection of wolves, wolves as a spirit animal, and their persecution,
•family meaning and isolating stragglers,
•love found, love lost, and when it’s sacrificed,
•the giving and taking,
•the loosened ground beneath our feet and the silent souls we bury deep,
and all, nonetheless, at a cost, to maintain the balance of a fragile ecosystem.
Kudos to the series production, editors, directors, and casting director for compelling me to cry, feel, detest, love, and build a hesitation, yet temptation to judge the behavior of portrayed characters. I’m invested, and looking forward to knowing more.
The only question I ask is: What is the significance between the single tribal drum beat occurring after certain scenes (or) is it merely a prayer toll for peace?
