Not a game a monetized chore.
After raising over $800 million, Star Citizen still lacks the majority of its promised Kickstarter stretch goals. Core gameplay systems remain unfinished, features like exploration, salvage, and dynamic economies are barely functional or non-existent.
Everything is locked behind paywalls. Ships that were supposed to be earned in-game are now sold at inflated prices, and new players are pushed toward spending real money on better ships and armor just to keep up.
Worse, every major patch wipes progress, which heavily incentivizes paying real cash to avoid losing everything. You’re not playing you’re renting your time until the next wipe.
Star Citizen isn’t a space sim anymore it’s a chore loop built around FOMO and monetization. If you’re looking for a game, look elsewhere. If you enjoy being a wallet with legs, this is for you.
