Finestkind has all of the ingredients to make a great movie, but with zero exploration of ANY character, it boils each character down to a stereotype that feels like an extended trailer. The whole movie is one long copy and paste of event/solution, event/solution, and repeat.
12-hours of being stranded in a lifeboat, a quick helicopter ride and the boys are walking into a bar for a drink... no investigation, no hospital check-up, nothing. Hell, I'm surprised the director just didn't have the guys fast rope into the bar right from the Coast Guard helicopter.
Do this for every scene and. you have this movie.
