Action Packed Movies!!!
It’s official I am the worst person to take with you to watch an action packed movie (or film as they used to be called) as my engineering brain critiques all the action scenes.
For example you can’t jump out of a plane and free fall to catch up with something that’s already fallen out of the plane. As the velocity of a free falling object is 9.81 m/s^2. and all objects fall at that velocity as dictated by gravity. (Unless they have something that causes friction with the air to slow them down …like a feather) So unless you’ve got a Jet pack on you won’t be able to catch something up that’s already fallen out.
Also you wouldn’t be able to pick up a 600-year-old ship with an Helicopter within five minutes of finding the 600 year old ship. First you would need a full survey of the ship with an assessment of the ships condition and content, and calculation to find the ships centre of gravity, and then a lifting plan carried out by a competent person. It just wouldn’t happen in five minutes!
And why is it that when someone has been fully submerged in water that within 10 seconds of getting out of the water they are fully dry, even in a hot day in the Ibiza sun it takes at least an hour for my shorts to dry when I’ve had a quick dip in the pool!!!! Come on film directors sort it out!!!
I think my kids hate going to the cinema with me, and they said my running commentaries spoil the movie, they say I’m not coming again!!!!
Uncharted - note to the director….more engineering research needed!!!!
