I love the lead actress and was excited to see her take the lead in another horror movie. Unfortunately, this one misses the mark. The movie is fantastic at creating an isolating and suspenseful atmosphere but unfortunately, aside from the neighbor, none of the characters are built up enough to be likable. The message is clear from the start and the end tries to deliver a satisfying vindication but fails at being anything more than frustrating. Some might say “that’s the point” and to that I say, watch “Lucky.” It encapsulates the same message but also bothers to add depth and nuance to the narrative. I hope this movie is successful because I think it has potential and I would love to see more movies from the same writer, director and actors.
