Some minor spoilers in this comment, nothing major, and certainly nothing you wouldn't figure out as you went along. Nonetheless, you've been warned! Don't be mad if you read anything you wish you hadn't 😂
This show is far better than the review bombing has made it look. It has hands down the best lightsaber action since Return of the Sith. It doesn't pull its punches and characters actually die when they should. The first couple episodes were a bit slow, but I was thoroughly hooked after episode 3 or 4 when the real action kicked off. I was excited by the finale too and really hope a second season is approved despite everyone's best efforts to hate it. I honestly think this series will be more appreciated as time goes on, will be a shame if people who blindly hated it without ever watching it because Twitter told them to, cause the cancellation of a series with one of the most potentially exciting introductions ever in its finale and we never get to see it play out.
Does it have a couple woke moments? Sure. But they're not central to the plot, and they're barely mentioned.
Race should not be an issue for anyone in a show with many multicoloured aliens, and it's not like there aren't any white characters 🙄
People get mad about lore breaking things, Ki Adi Mundi, is a fair criticism... Plo Koon would have been a better choice, but I believe Ki Adi Mundi was chosen BECAUSE of his line in phantom menace, illustrating that a cover up was effective (because not even he was aware). Everything else complaints-wise, not so much. From the beginning I got the feeling this series might be about learning how life is created via the force. A vital plot point key to Anakin's origins. Almost all "lore-breaking" complaints can be explained away by the fact that this is the sequence of events, where that ability was discovered. The sith had to learn it from somewhere.
Realistically I'd rate it a 4/5 but in counter to the review bombing they can have a straight 5 from me.
