Very disturbing series about idealized Denmark showing that privilege without self-awareness can take a toll on families and societies at large. Even the places where people may have the best intentions are negatively impacted.

I am really mystified that this book has been so successful. It is a series of cliches written in very contrived language. The twists and turns in the murder mystery are just so obviously manipulative. And the icing on the cake is the way it exploits the transgender issues. There are so many coincidences and unbelievable scenarios. I found it to be really aggravating reading.
