Suwa is perfect, literally the perfect guy. He is kind, patient yet forceful when he has to be, but never in a toxic way. Is is so mature and smart, he is encouraging his friends and loves them so much that he is always looking out for them and putting them first. He tries to help the MC get with her love interest even though he is in love with her himself because he ACTUALLY understands what real love is and just wants her and their friend she likes to be alive, well, and happy. He is a sporty guy who is comfortable enough in his masculinity and who he is that he doesn't rub it in anyone's face, and he isn't afraid to cry, or hug another guy, or buy a bouquet of flowers for another guy. He is willing to talk instead of just jumping to actions, and speaking of talking he talks about problems and feelings too. Takako and Azu are such good friends, supportive, protective, but still willing to push Naho when they have to. Hagita is a chill dude, but he is also hilarious. Naho is annoying to the max at first, but gets better as the show goes on. The plot is great and they feel not only real and believable as a friend group, but also incredibly heartwarming and enjoyable to watch as a group. The show is wholesome, intriguing, and very emotional and real. The whole letters going back in time 10 years thing is odd, but the show constantly flashing to the future and showing what's happening there and linking it to the past works very well pacing and narrative wise. I don't want to just assume it is Shojou because it has romance, but if it is, then it is the best Shojou of the modern day. It is well written, probably has the best most natural feeling and not forced romance I have seen in a LONG time. 100% recommend this to anyone even slightly interested in trying it.

Do NOT watch this. It is SO bad. Legitimately, I had to pause in the middle of episodes multiple times to take breaks just to cool off because it was so cringey and infuriating. The main couple has a 16 year old girl and a man who is much older than her. The show let's us see 16 years into the past where the man looks the same then as he does in the present, if you check the wiki it says he is around 16, but if he was around 16 in the past, then 16 years later would make him 32 or older, and he is much bigger and older looking than the 16 year old girl he likes. The show also has a girl who is friends with the main character who tries to tell her friend to get with the guy and how much he must love her because he is seen following her around everywhere one day when she goes to school and he watches her all day. We find out he is guarding her, but the idea the show has a character who tries to romanticize stalking is SO gross. He also begins their relationship by being rude to her and insulting her at every turn. It just feels so much like he is mistreating her and somehow even though she gets angry at him for it, she falls for him anyway? The show tries to depict her as a "strong" young girl, by having her do Karate and be the one who cooked and managed finances for her and her dad, but the second the guy she likes who was mean to her starts being nice to her, that's it, she folds and becomes this scared, mousy girl who shakes and cries and clings to him all the time. And the magical girl transformation requires her to house the soul of one of the guys inside her body, and every single transformation makes them naked and hug, whether she is doing it with the older guys, or the 7 year old boys, or the 10 year old boy, each and every transformation is them naked and hugging. It just makes me so angry and grossed out. The villain is a joke too, painting her as becoming a villain purely because the man she liked didnt like her back and that is enough to claim the world was bad for her and it was understandable she became evil and tried to destroy the world. It is appalling writing. They ruin the only sweet mature older guy as well by having him suddenly be in love with the villain and not care what happens to himself or the world as long as he can prove he loves her to the woman. The only positive is the other characters, like the dad and his wife, or the boys or other older guys. Mannen, Shin and Hajime are genuinely sweet kids and well done, they feel like actual little kids, which is rare for anime to get right.

Quirky detectives are FUN detectives to watch, and the 2 main characters have a nice balance and banter makes you smile. The plot is a cute twist too. Season 2 is currently ongoing and only has 2 episodes up at the time of this review and MAN I was actually disappointed it was only 2 episodes because I wanted to see more.

Sonic, Sonia and Manic have SUCH good sibling chemistry and energy. They Aldo work well as a team. But their depiction as siblings is so realistic and yet even when they pick on each other or have spats, they are still wholesome. Manic especially is a gem, I love the middle child energy of Sonia, but the baby of the 3 triplets is easily the best character in the whole show. Manic is somehow the most chill despite growing up in the worst conditions. I love how sometimes he sides with Sonia and just parrots what she says and other times he joins Sonic in picking on her for being girly and higher maintenance. This show is a gem for any Sonic fan. Sonia has prime sass, his fear of water is hilarious and seems crippling but doesn't hold him back from being a hero. Give it a shot, you won't regret it.
