There is some good photography and directing there, but the script is really basic. The characters lack any meaningful development, everything is binary and simplistic. The plot never surprises, there is no suspense, and the emotion we are supposed to feel is very forced - it certainly didn't work for me.
Hint - if you feel that characters need to start singing out of the blue throughout your film, it might mean that your your script is just not strong enough.
