As someone who has read the book and can appreciate how challenging it would be to adapt to film, I left the film pleasantly surprised. There were some liberties taken, and I didn’t quite understand the need to change the ending as they did, but overall it was an acceptable adaptation.

Really enjoyed this one! No it’s not a great film that will win awards, but it’s fun and entertaining and it’s a film that knows what it is. Is it cheesy in places? Yes, but was I entertained, absolutely. The action is well done, the humor lands and there is even some emotion stirred as well. I dare say I enjoyed Megan 2.0 better than the first! Definitely worth a watch in the theater for the action and filming, which was pretty cool.

Figured I’d give this show a chance since I had seen this character in Wakanda Forever and liked that movie. That being said, I’m not sure what they were thinking with this show? The way the character is written makes her not very likable imo. She comes across as very entitled and just kind of annoying tbh. She tends to talk down to and smart off to everyone around her in the show. Honestly all the characters came across as “caricature-ish” and unnatural which was kind of irritating. They mention Stark soooo much and compare Riri to him constantly and at times put Stark down in the show which I did not care for. Also it’s weird that she makes constant complaints about her lack of resources to get started in comparison to Stark when Stark literally built his first suit in a cave in the Middle East lol. There was a lot of “telling” the audience how smart Riri is but no “showing” which is just lazy writing. Brilliant technological marvels just magically appear for her whereas with Stark, we got to see the progress, testing, building which made us know he was a genius without everyone around him fawning over him with compliments. Not sure I’ll continue watching this one after completing episode 2. So far, it’s not for me, and I don’t like wasting my time.

This movie surprised me. The trailer made the film look kind of cheesy to be honest. My husband and I do movie reviews and chose The Amateur as our first pick and this was a secondary, for the heck of it viewing. Honestly, out of the two, Drop was the superior thriller. Good suspense, plot twists and pacing. The set was beautiful as was the overall cinematography. I was stunned to learn that this was a set built for the film and not an actual restaurant used for the film. The story was simple yet had enough body to keep me interested and I was invested in the cast. The acting was very well done as well. 8/10 from me. Definitely worth a watch!

Ah where to begin… To start, this movie felt like two different movies spliced together. The beginning started out on a decent track. Yeah, it had eye-roll moments but at least the resemblance to the original story was kind of there, but at the mid-point, it took a weird left turn with bandits? The romance was oddly timed and just didn’t work. Also the casting choices were just odd. Rachel has a great voice, but her acting chops just aren’t there. Lots of overacting and odd facial expressions that just did not fit the scenes. I actually liked Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen and I thought she played the part fairly well, however she and Rachel are just a mismatch on screen. The hair, makeup and costume design team needs firing too lol. No one’s hair looked good, but poor Rachel was done dirty with the bowl cut on her diamond face shape! Gal’s makeup looked dry, especially her lips which were also blotchy and the prince/thief looked like he had a cut from Full House in the 90’s. The costume design was also cheap imo. Not worth spending the money on this in the theater. If you must watch, wait until streaming is available and still then, think twice haha
