I've always been a huge fan of the original 2006 game and have played it many, many times on various platforms throughout the years. With this 2024 deluxe remaster, I think Capcom have done a decent job by adding in some new features, like the additional camera elements, autosaves and updated graphics.
Where this new remaster fails in comparison to the original game for me is mainly due to the zombies themselves. I can't tell you how many times they grabbed Frank. Literally running aside them with enough distance and they still grab you and deplete your health. I hope Capcom patch this in a future update as it isn't fun to be grabbed so often. Even sawing my way through them and at least one of the zombies grabbed Frank.
Also, the game, even though it looks nicer now with the graphical overhaul, has glaring pop-in's during gameplay and cutscenes, too. The use of the RE engine is a welcomed edition, but 2023's Resident Evil 4 remake looked lightyears better than this game in my opinion.
Aside from these issues, the game is more or less the same as the original.
