The dialogue was horrendously predictable and full of cliches. It felt like it was written by someone who had never read a superhero story or watched a superhero movie before in their life and were writing it based on what they think superheroes and supervillains talk like. All of the characters read as flat archetypes of a team up; the over-eager inexperienced kid in the Flash, the jock always itching for a fight in Aquaman, the moody guy with the tragic backstory in Cyborg, etc. The villain was barely present and had no distinguishable backstory or motivation for his villainy. Cyborg randomly yelling “Booyah” at the climax of the film was, for me,the nail in the coffin for a movie about reviving a dead Superman. The writing lets this one down.
