Watching INSIDE was like discovering a new genre of music. I have never seen anything exactly like it, but it articulates and expresses itself so well that it almost seems obvious and familiar. This special is so good, I like it so much, that it actually makes me feel bad about what a mediocre person I am. I can’t believe he did this by himself. It feels meaningful and raw but more than anything it’s just so good. The writing and/or improv (who knows the difference with INSIDE) is so good, the editing is so good, the pacing is so good, the skill and talent is high with all of the lighting and camera work, the homages to his own inspirations, the music is so so good. It gives me the same feelings that I get listening to one of my favorite albums beginning to end, I’m little exhausted but still excited when it’s over. It feels half genius calculation and half magic. I really don’t think it’s using clichés to say INSIDE is a masterpiece and the kind of thing every artist aspires to achieve. This will inspire and entertain and maybe even bother you a little bit for a few seconds. I loved it. It gave me a feeling I don’t get much anymore.
