I want to love Elden Ring so much and I've already 100%'d it once and currently working on a 2nd 100% but I cannot ignore how bad the boss design is, visually everything looks amazing but every boss is either a reskin that you encounter 100 of later in the game, underwhelming, or annoying. The ancestor spirit fight was very cool but insanley easy with the only annoying move being the roll. Godskin Duo is just a horrible fight all raound, Placidusax and his teleporting around with an attack that connects without you ever being near it. Malenia's infamous waterfowl, fire giants addiction to rolling around the arena every second making him impossible to hit in phase 2. Maliketh wasn't annoying as much as underwhelimg. To me the worst offender was none other than the final boss, Radagon's hitboxes on some of his attacks are abosutely asinine and his damage output is insane making it just tedious rather then skillfull, and then Elden Beast. A final boss to a game like this being Elden Beast? One of if not the only time I was dissipointed by a boss's actual in game design rather then annoying moveset. But his moveset was atrocious also, his attacks have such long range deal infinite amounts of damage even with the holy damage talismans, damage reducing bubble tear, armor, and the 600% damage negation incantion. On top of that it is directly after the radagon fight so lord forbid you used any flasks on that fight. On top of all of this he is all the way across the already massive field at all times and loves to retreat to there with no chance of hitting him if you got close. I found the entire game fairly easy for better or worse, I've used a handful of different builds and felt that it was fun until it got to the main bosses, aside from Godfrey, Mohg, and Morgott/Margit, I had a disdain for the others for the reasons stated earlier and even more. Visually and aesthetically this game is a 10/10 but my lord can these bosses be tedious and aggrevating. They drive my score of elden ring straight down to the lowest it can be, because all though you can just avoid some, ones like the fire giant and final boss however cannot be avoided to beat the game. Making this game more about being annoyed at what's to come rather then actually enjoying what's in the now.
