A few weeks ago, I stopped by Ace Cinema in Rockingham to watch the Minecraft Movie.
The plot is about Steve escaping the real world, to the Overworld (Minecraft world). Steve stays here for around 5 years and creates whatever he wants. Henry, one of the main characters, moves to where the portal is. He goes into a shop run by Garret “The Garbage Man” Garrison in which he discovers the artefacts to reform the portal. He gets dragged in and has to find a way out. In order to get out, they have to defeat Malgosh (piglin queen).
With the soundtrack, there were about 25 songs yet I only remember 2 : “Ode to Dennis” and “Lava Chicken”. I guess what I am trying to say is that the songs were not played at the right time and not that memorable.
The theater’s environment wasn’t perfect, but not horrible. The seats were good and the popcorn was solid. On the other hand, there was a little boy, around 4, making obnoxious noises once every 5 seconds. That wasn’t amazing.
The actors acted well and my personal favourite was Jack Black as “Steve”.
I would recommend it to families with pre-teen kids
Overall, the story was filled with ups and downs but not as exhilarating as I had hoped for. I was all so in gold-class which improved my experience. For those reasons, I am giving it a solid 3 ender pearls out of 5.
