The story of Bharat Ratna - A Legendary Social reformer... Redeemer of Millions from the clutches of tyranny and oppression. His struggle to earn self-respect for his depressed classes oppressed people made this movie a silver screen heart warming powerful story.... But this movie was not reached to people in time due to business issues.... Now available in youtube but there is no quality in any version of Print.... English version of movie is excellent but HD print should be made available. Many scenes were scensored in regional versions. A truly inspirational movie, Mammootty as Baba Saheb lived on silver screen, Ramu (Baba Saheb's wife Ramabhai played by Sonali Kulkarni) 's character really "nabutho nabhavishath", especially while she was dying tells the dialogue "I have seen many deaths - Ramesh, Gangadhar, Indu, Rajaratna" touches everyones heart. Ramu wanted always to be beside her husband, but Baba Saheb mission was different. There were few scenes that depicted his family was neglected by Baba Saheb; For instance, His elder brother quarrels with Baba Saheb once and say why don't you care for your family?, Ramu asks Baba Saheb "what do you do with so much of knowledge?", While his Son Rajaratna was on deathbed, Saheb was busy in fight for deppressed. It was Saheb's sacrifice. His intro scene in London Library was awesome. Apart from Ramu character, his father Subedar Major Ramji Sakpal highly impressive. Shahu Maharaj's timely help to Baba Saheb and his speech at Untouchables conference were turning points to the story. Because he predicted the future of Saheb as the saviour of untouchables. Baba Saheb was literally in tears when he heard the news of Shahu Maharaj, a man behind the inception of Saheb's - Mook Nayak (the Leader of the Dumb) fortnightly. Childhood flashback episodes were pictured touchingly. Saheb's wedding with Ramu (He 17 & she 9) held in a fish market looked natural, especially with that heart touching background song in rain... Maharashtra Govt must be appreciated for giving life to this project. Jabbar Patel's making, taking & direction could be compared with Richard Attenborough's Gandhi. Both movie stories were comparable - both of them (Gandhi and Baba Saheb) faced insults & fought for their freedom but one was from other country people and the other was from same country people. The second part of the movie was seemingly a war between Gandhiji and Baba Saheb. Nehru and Saheb's meeting before Saheb sworn in as Law Minister was admirable. Saheb's discussion with Jinna on his two nations theory, convincing him to be part of India were remarkable. The highlights were Saheb's speeches at Round Table Conferences, constituent assembly and in climax. The man to be remembered was music composer - especially for songs, we glued to the film because of its bgm since title cards rolling on untouchables story depicted with pictures of Peshwa regime. After watching this movie we pity on personal life Baba Saheb but as a redeemer of his people, he reminds us Moses who redeemed his people from Pharoahs tyranny and oppression. The best dialogue he says in this movie - "I don't want the certificate of patriotism."
One man's sacrifice in history paved the way for millions of oppressed to live happily today.... He converted to Buddhism in the climax but he looked like Buddha himself. It was not movie, it fills a life in every frame, it is an inspiration, it is past, present & future. Jabbar Patel ji, I am coming to meet you.... & Mammootty ji - showed us grace of Baba Saheb. Long live Baba Saheb's Legacy.....
