Forget everybody who’s saying awful stuff about this- it’s so good! Like get off your high horse and just enjoy something instead of picking it apart. It’s the first season and setting up for so many possibilities. The characters relationships make sense based off the setting and timeline they’re in, emotional depth is not to be mistaken for lack of story. They took liberties regarding the French Revolution but also- there’s fucking vampires- vampires aren’t real. Next you’re gonna tell me that our cars should have ginormous eyes on the windshield. The story is telling complex themes in the simplest way possible- there’s a lot to cover in one season and so the fast pace makes sense especially when budgets and writing are either slim or rushed. It honestly works well to me. Overall- give it a shot. Be open minded, and understand it’s all fantasy and fiction.
